EXVOTO DEDICADO A LA VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE

EX-VOTO TO VIRGEN DE GUADALUPE PAINTED ON TIN WITH THE FOLLOWING LEGEND:

Jalisco.

My grandfather and my father dedicated their lives to the land; they taught me the craft of the jimador—the agave harvester—and instilled in me a love for the fields. With this small devotional painting, I pray to Our Lady of Guadalupe for their eternal rest. Their love for their work was so profound that, every year on the night of the Day of the Dead, I have seen their spirits among the agave plants. Nicandro Hernández. Jalisco.
