En mi familia siempre acostumbramos ponerle ofrenda a nuestros difuntos, pero cuando me independicé y me fuí a vivir solo, me dió flojera poner la ofrenda y decidí mejor poner adornos de Halloween en mi casa. En la noche de Día de Muertos me llevé un gran susto al ver que se me aparecieron mis abuelos muy enojados conmigo de que no les puse su ofrenda. Le doy las gracias al Santo Señor de Chalma de que no me llevaron al otro mundo y prometo no olvidar mis tradiciones mexicanas.

In my family we always put up offerings for our deceased, but when I became independent and went to live alone, I was too lazy to put up the offering and decided to put up Halloween decorations in my house instead. On the night of the Day of the Dead I got a big scare when my grandparents appeared to me, very angry with me for not putting up their offering. I thank the Holy Lord of Chalma that they did not take me to the other world and I promise not to forget my Mexican traditions.
